The summer has passed by in a flash. We had enjoyed the entire summer: from our recording project of three Beethoven String Quartets at The Banff Centre (and generously sponsored by them and BISQC) to our teaching activities at Indiana University’s Summer String Academy; playing for the first time in beautiful Rockport, Maine, for Bay Chamber Concerts and hunting for buttery lobster; happy returns to the incredible Festival of the Sound in Parry Sound, Ontario for a week of performances, to the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival as part of their Beethoven Complete Quartet Series, and Toronto Harbourfront’s mainstage for the innovative “What Is Classical?” series.
Soon, the Afiaras will begin a flurry of activity in preparing for the performance season ahead and starting our new residency at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. There will be much to update as our Beethoven recordings will soon be ready and as we prepare for a new recording project (to be announced shortly).
