Afiara’s new concert series in Toronto explores the versatility, essence, and rich traditions of the string quartet. From Brazilian choros to rap, mariachi to flamenco, Schumann to Steve Reich, from award-winning chefs to house DJs, and marine photographers and graphic artists, the Afiara’s Playlist program meets larger productions in what the group likes to call “full immersion” programming: The Afiaras taking the stage is only one part of the larger production.
